Beautiful! I've tried this one twice with no luck. Any culture tips appreciated.

Love these!
I got mine in May and it is still settling into its new environment.
I'm wondering...
This plant grows as a fairly straight stem with leaves emerging on each side. Between each leaf there is a small 'nob' that in my case has dried out because of transport and new conditions and all. The newest ones that have emerged while the plant has been in my greenhouse are still green. They don't grow very fast though...they're kinda just...there. What is those things? Is that where this plant flowers? Is that a potential bud that up to now have blasted? Is it a potential keiki or branch? I know they're not roots because the plant has thrown out aerial roots since I got it and they look different.
Edit: Just looked at the picture on orchidspecies.com and there I can see clearly that those are potential buds.

As i know, the species dislikes cold weather. Several years ago, my first plant was killed after a cold front hit. Most people grow their plant mounted here in Taiwan but i now grow my plant in a pot with coarse medium. We water the plants every day even in winter. The plants need strong light, as that for most cattleyas.

Thanks, Pheli. Perhaps they didn't get strong enough light, although they grew right along with my vandas. Hmmmm......

I grow mine with the vandas. Strong light, hot and lots and lots of water.
They like to climb on something, I think. I have a bit of plastic mesh for it to grab while growing.
It's pretty fast-growing, I've got to say and I've only had mine in the winter months so far so I'm looking forward to see what it will do in the summer.
