* by all means you must have one....
I got this online from Mad Happenings Orchids from Bradenton, Florida for $20(three years ago).
You might want to pre order it since its been a while since I got this plant.
But then again these might have brothers and sisters who are blooming sized by now.
Beautiful! I'll try to grow my next Vanda in a vase.
Thank you!
This grows well in vase culture during wintertime. But in the warmer months I hang them outside the fire escape for brighter sunlight and also because the Manhattan atmosphere is hot and humid.
Bud,
Thank you for the tips. My vanda was in spike when it summered on my deck last Summer but most of the buds blasted when I moved it indoors to enjoy the flowers. Was it because the move or something else? Thanks.
You should move it indoors as soon as you notice the spike. If you moved it just before it opens its buds or it already opened some of the buds; it will blast because of moisture issues. If you move it indoors in that state= make sure it has warmth, additional lighting and an electric humidifier with an oscillating fan.
