Default Ascocentrum

In 2009 i bought a flask with five small seedlings of Ascocentrum christensoniana x Ascocentrum ampullaceum and this is the first one to flower.

I did thing it was strange that the buds where orange and are really disapointed with the results because orange/yellow flowers is not on top of my list.

Nice still the same though! How do you tend to them? Are yours potted or mounted?

I have been growing this one potted in bark.
Nearly all my seedlings and very young vandas are grown this way ,until they have developed a good rootsystem.
When potted i water them about every third day, grow them under a ledlightpanel, give them a slight brease and hold back with the fertilizer.

Very nice.
It is true that the color is a bit surprising considering the parents' coloration.

It has to be mislabeled. The flowers should have been pink if it was the cross the label says it is.

I like it!

Can you post a picture of the whole plant? I'm a bit curious as to how big they must be before they reach flowering size.
