Default V. Merv L. Velthuis x V. Srakaew Dbl Spike

One of my favourite robust and vigorous Vandas. I have been getting massive spikes but finally now a dbl spike with large 5 inch blooms.
Enjoy!

Thank you Hannah! Its funny, it just bloomed a month ago with a single erect spike with massive 6" blooms 23 of them too. Now it sends out a dbl with 8 or so each.

Beautiful color! Those semi-terete vandas are perfect for your tropical climate.

It's lovely. Almost a lilac colour.

I am glad you all like it! It's mounted on a stump but when it finishes flowering I'm thinking of moving it to a a rock garden area to add to the orchid landscaping. I'm not sure I should leave it here as I a creating a grow space. Its already so large, I'm wondering if it might get in the way or be a nice center piece when people come to buy.

It would be a nice centre piece. But you wouldn't want people bumping it or handling the flowers. Everyone has the urge to touch the flowers at some time.

Oh boy, even I am guilty of handling flowers to get a good look at the colour, form and colour pattern. Its a very vigorous grower; I think if I do leave it I will have to put it on a taller stake preferably metal, or mount it on the wall. It has a looot of roots by the way. lol
