All pesticide products will carry a statement under the Agricultural Use Requirements section of the labeling. This statement will instruct users to comply with all provisions. Pesticides damages the plants, the environment and you. They are hazards that is why the factory has to provide the consumer with warnings and labels and it is under the strict scrutiny of the Federal Government before it is released for public consumption.
Phytotoxicity, or unintentional pesticide damage to plants, results in abnormal growth, foliar burn, leaf drop, and discolored, curled, abnormal roots and spotted leaves. If phytotoxicity is severe, the plant may die. Phytotoxicity often resembles such other problems as insect damage, plant disease, and poor growing conditions such as insufficient moisture and improper fertilization. The following contribute to accidental plant injury by pesticides:
•The wide variety of plant material involved in ornamental pest control
•Pesticide drift
•Pesticide persistence beyond the intended period of pest control

*I guess you are using very light or diluted insecticides that you barely notice it on your plants or on yourself.

here is just one example from the University of Kentucky= I think this is an agricultural school:

Well I have been instructed by agriculturalists as to what cides are suited to orchids and at what measurements and I have never experienced spotting etc as you have stated. In fact I have had the opposite, plants with spotting etc have had exceptional new growths. Secondly most cides I have used are locally made, and are made for farm crops and are safe for consumption upon reaping. So I would not hold this as a steadfast rule of thumb. The reality is that sometimes home remedies are not always effective especially on infestations and over a longer period. I wish it were because it would certainly be more cost effective.

Yes, home remedies is cost effective and I am dealing less with hazardous poisonous chemicals even how much diluted it is and passed the agricultural standards for public sale. I will use it only as a last resort.
* as I said: I own some of those hazardous pesticides that was mentioned above. Bayer, Ortho and some persticides anti-mosquito and cockroach.... etc....because I refuse to have bugs inside my apartment. I just follow the safety instructions and make sure I am on vacation for a week before I do the spraying.

Yeah I get you. I'm not necessarily so extreme. I don't use ortho or bayer when in Jamaica at all; the concentrates i buy are cost effective in the sense that they last more than a year. I certainly make sure not to inhale them etc...but once they are on after 30 mins or so they dry etc, or even before then.
