Neostylis Pinkie 'Starry Night'
This is my second Starry Night - the first one was taken down by crown rot before it could bloom (bought it from the greenhouse that way - lesson learned). I saw this little guy at a show back in September and have been nursing it along ever since. It must have opened up these two blooms last night. They are crummy iPhone pics that I snapped as I ran out the door. It just feels like a minor victory after not being able to save the first one, so I wanted to share.

It's adorable! I'll have to talk to our new orchid person and see what he has!

Thanks! Where is there a "new orchid person"? That sounds exciting. I wish I had a new orchid person to talk to.

We have a grower who moved here from Calgary. It's so nice to finally have a grower nearby! He'll be at the show this weekend, so I'm going to have fun! I need to rob a bank first.

I got a mounted one with a low spike last fall. Well, I didn't keep it moist enough and it got a bit too dry. The tiny little spike seemed to decline for the fist two months, then grew just a tiny bit, then stopped again. Now I started to mist more diligently and I see a new leaf coming, but no news on the old small spike. maybe stuck for good that way. oh, well...
It's nice to see the flowers though! it's supposed to be scented as well from what I read.
