Vandachostylis Colmarie
Currently blooming, Vandachostylis (Syn. Rhynchovanda) Colmarie is a cross of Vandachostylis Sri-Siam x Rhynchostylis gigantea. It has a very pleasant fragrance which I can only describe as rather clove-like. The flowers are so deep purple they are nearly black.

Oh, I got this one in my greenhouse. But it has never flowered. I initially saw a picture similar to yours and decided i HAD to have one of those. I just love the colour on this one.
Enjoy it!

Thank you both. Silje, hang in there. My plant has been very slow to put out new leads and roots. I was ecstatic to find it in spike.

Around about what size are the bloom and plant on a whole? Really love the colour; its almost blood red or a like welch's 100% grape juice.

Thanks. I love Welch's grape juice, btw. I just grabbed a shot of the plant for you. It's about 16" across, nine inches tall and the flowers measure about two inches. This plant has been a very slow grower.
