Default New Vanda

I was lucky that the bad weather held off long enough for me to go to the Amherst Orchid society orchid show today, I go to meet some really nice people and I did get a chance to meet a very nice lady from OD Connie star. I picked up a nice Vanda and a Paph, I'l post pic of the Paph as soon as I get them on my main computer.

I know the shower not the best place to take pic but I had to hang it until I got hook in place

Very nice! I hope the plant is ok with the change in conditions as I have found that my buds have lasted before when they're developed that far and conditions change. Either way its a beautiful plant!!! Post pics the day those buds open! I'm new to Vandas but love them. I have two...one I abused horribly and a second I got once I realized what I had to do to help it grow well. The one I abused I have in a basket with hydroton. The other is in a basket with nothing. How will you grow this one?

I hope the buds don't blast, but if the do I'll wait until next year to see it bloom, I plan on letting it grow in the basket its in, its growing with out any type of mix and by the looks of it its been that way for a long time, I'm reading up on how to care for it, I also have a every small vanda growing the same way and it seems to be doing ok

I hope I do my abused vanda justice in its new basket. But I'd like to go more than a day without watering it. I grow mine under t5 lamps and have a US humidifier that makes all of my air plants much happier.

That's a nice healthy looking vanda. Give it as much light as you can and water it every day.
