Can you please tell which AlgoFlash fertilizer you use? There are many type listed on the website.
And, can it be used as a foliar feed?
Thanks.

I used to feed my plants with the AlgoFlash orchid fertilizer ( there is one for roses and one for garden flowers ) this is in liquid form=this does not leave as much residue on the leaves as other fertilizers....but I am now using k-lite which is available at Ray's store online (crystals you dissolve in water) and I don't notice any crystal residue on my leaves.

Beautiful orchid and great pictures as well. While in vase, you wet spray it daily and soak it every 3 days?

Beautiful! It sure does seem to like vase culture. I find that the one that I have in vase culture has better roots than the ones I have in hanging baskets. I'm considering removing the medium from the baskets and using clear plastic bags as vases. That way I can still hang them where there is better light and more room.

Vase culture is very personal. You have to find out for yourself by trial and error what watering regimen to follow....I always observe the color of the roots. If it is very light and wrinkly= I need to spray it in the mornings....I have to soak it every 3 days for 5 min. and in winter only every week.

Thank You for the visit!
Let me know how the plastic bags worked for you. It seems to be a good idea.

I will. It is a solution that I have been thinking about for a while now. Our summers are very dry and the roots sometimes look desiccated. I think a plastic bag just might provide that extra humidity, and I can still hang them outdoors for the summer. Mind you, it won't be pretty.
