The flowers on your plant are beautiful, Mauro. Mine has a spike on it that just started to break through the side of the stem. Last year it only produced three flowers (picture of one of the flowers is attached). Hopefully it will produce more this year. I agree with you, the flowers are incredibly fragrant, especially in the early evening (not sure about your plant, but the flowers on mine lose their scent after a few hours just after the sun sets). I especially like the clear yellow of your flowers; I think mine is the "typical" variety with minute spots throughout. It must be a pretty adaptable species as far as temperature tolerances go. Mine goes outside during the spring and summer, and the only time it experiences cool growing conditions is when I bring it back inside the house during the winter months. And you're right, it's nice and compact too--which is always a good thing when space is concerned. Now if only I could find a way to get my plant to make its roots behave themselves and stay inside the pot! Congratulations on your beautiful flowers!
Steve

LOL! I have troubles with its roots too, Steve! Mine loses the perfume around midnight, but honestly, I didn't go smell it after that hour...

I just did a talk for my AOS Judging Center called 'Going for Gold: Awardable Characteristics of V. denisoniana and Its Hybrids.
The flower form and color of V. denisoniana is quite variable. The AM/AOS that was awarded to V. denisoniana 'Crownfox Golden Spots' in Jan. 27, 2007 describes a flower with as having fine mahogany spots; I'm impressed with the clear yellow of your plant.
As to the fragrance, I'm reminded of lemon pledge.

V denisoniana is fragrant at dusk because that's when its pollinators (beetles) are present.
Vandae that are fragrant in the daytime are pollinated by bees.

Thanks for the information. Is this also suitable for other orchids?

V denisoniana is fragrant at dusk to attract its 'beetle' pollinator whereas V brunnea (looks like denisoniana) is fragrant in the daytime to attract bee pollinators.
All orchids have some distinctive feature to attract a specific pollinator, be it fragrance (or stench), color, form, etc.
