Default Vanda lamellata

Found growing on tree trunks and branches of coastal cliffs and forest of Taiwan, Philippines all the way to Borneo in elevations of 0 to 300 meters.

I have this hanging in a cedar wood basket lined with coco fibers; the roots carefully curled and arranged inside; anchored with a wire at the bottom and sprinkled with charcoal, coarse fir bark, lava rock and hydroton to fill up the basket. I give it bright (south facing window sill) to full sunlight (outside on the fire escape in the warmer months) and warm temperatures (constant 80F indoors) with humidifiers and oscillating electric fans. Since this is hanging in a basket it is watered frequently. Fertilizer weekly weakly alternated with seaweed mix.
This is the fourth time this flowered giving me a spike of 14 fragrant blossoms that gets very strong by noontime, reminded me of lily of the valley.

Gorgeous. I like the contrast between the creamy yellow and striking burgundy-brown, almost spotted stripes. The purple lip ties the look very nicely. Well photographed too

These blossoms are so gorgeous, I couldn't resist. I kind of want one, among other ones.... I googled your Vanda and saw a lot of variation in colorings. I definitely love yours the best. Where did you buy it?

What a nice bloom !
To be exact, this variety with brown markings on the lateral sepals and a pink lip is the var. remediosae.

Congrats for this gorgeous bloom !

Thank You, flexdc !!!!

@Nastia, I won this orchid on a bid at Ebay four years ago. That was a phase when I have not yet discovered the online stores of the other growers of which some of our members also sell their orchids.

Thank you very much for the info, Philippe !
