Dyakia hendersoniana

This is a new acquisition but I gather it is 4 years old. Formerly known as Ascocentrum hendersonianum that is endemic to the equatorial swampy forests of Borneo, compact growing miniatures that I give bright to full sunlight and intermediate to warm temperatures…. I water frequently in the warmer months and I reduce watering in the winter to just once a week….fragrant like the smell of licorice….

one of my favorites.
please know that it can rebloom on the same spike, so don't cut spent spikes until they turn brown.

Thank You, fishmommy for the tip=I have three more spikes forming as you see in the third and fourth picture=that info is good to know since I tend to cut old spikes from my vandacious orchids

I really like this one!

I ended up with 2 of these (I bought one and one was a gift) that are both in spike. Thanks fishmommy for the tip[ on cutting the spike. The one I bought had the spike tip broken off on the way home, and I left it be. It's also forming a second spike.

Mine don't appear to have an extensive root system. Both mine are in 2" plastic pots with large bark.

I put this on S/H method because I don't want it to rot....this plant needs to be watered and given warmth and bright light
