I am very fond of this little plant but have managed to destroy three so far. The last one looked fantastic with several buds and three flowers open at once. A month later all of the leaves fell and there was nothing left. I am going to try pot culture on the next one.

Mine's done pretty well potted, so worth a try - I did manage to rot the roots on the parent, trying to keep the keiki roots moist by spraying - which is why I finally removed the keikis; parent seems to be recovering.

Those are too cute Sonya! The blooms look really rounded and flattened in comparison to mine. Two little faces peeking over the side of the pot.

Lovely and good work on the growing.

I grow mine bare-root on a chunk of red lava rock in a clear plastic cube with a lid, water at the bottom. It was about to expire so I tried this and it recovered rather quickly. New roots, new leaves and a spike (currently between blooms) quickly developed. I just remove the lid to add water to the bottom now and then (and lift the rock out to smell the blooms). Hope that helps anyone that has trouble with this one.

Missed this thread originially. Really cute! And I didn't know that this orchid could keiki. I have failed miserably with it, I've killed off three already. Good thing they are so cheap. I've tried mounted, then potted, then potted differently. Nope, nope and nope. I don't think I'll try again until I have some sort of terrarium set up for these sorts of orchids.

thanks - fragrance is quite nice - citrus-y, not super strong

yup, mine gave me a number of keikis in a fairly short time

mine are just on a windowsill, and have done fine - no set up for humidity - I did cook these two when I moved them at the onset of winter - they look like they will live, tho - despite what others have said, mine don't seem to want much light at all
