Vanda Manuvadee and some neofinitia hybrids

Well it has been a year but once again my Vanda Manuvadee is blooming on the patio. Also have two neofinetia hybrids blooming, first time for me. One is a vandofinetia "Kelly's Cloud Catcher", a nice small blue flower, and a "Hueylihara (Renanstylis Queen Emma'Nancy' x Neof falcata 'White Tara')", the latter being a big disappointment, I figured it would have reddish coloring and it turned out to have a dirty soap-water off white tone....

Really Beautiful. I not too long ago potted up my Manuvadee and it seems to be very happy hanging under my cherry tree. I have a question though; how many times a year do you get it to bloom?

As to how often it blooms, my Manuvadee has had ups and downs. I bought it in April 2008, it bloomed twice that year, the next year its growing tip died and it took over a year for new keikis to appear, that was winter/spring 2011. By fall 2011 each keiki sent off a flower spike and now both are doing so again, late summer 2012. Hopefully it makes it through a cool wet rainy So California winter and blooms once or twice for me in 2013.

Well awesome...I have a 1 foot an a bit tall Manuvadee 'Blue' that I bought; really looks healthy; I had to cut back the roots a bit in order to get it out of its basket for traveling. The leaf colour is great, and i just potted it up some weeks ago in a hanging clay pot; so now to wait for some signs of new roots before i get excited about a new spike.
Hopefully it enjoys the tropical climate here in Jamaica.
And maybe that nice drop in temperature in december will really initiate more vigorous growth next year.

I gave my V. Manuvadee away after 2 years of poor flowers, a bad mericlone. Yours looks much nicer. The Vandofinetia Kelly's Cloud Catcher is superb. Only three species, I think the V. coerulescens makes the flowers look like birds in flight. On mine, the flowers lose all color the last days before they fall away, little ghosts with tiny blanched lips. The fragrance is day and night, but especially during the day, like a handful of crushed grapes.
