Mokara Chao Praya ‘gold’
This orchid Mokara Chao Praya ‘gold’, is a hybrid of Mokara Bangkok Gold x Ascocenda Madame Kenny, registered in 1993; blooming for me for the fourth time, flowers are about two inches big. What is exciting is that its got two more spikes coming(see last picture)
Mokara is a man-made genus representing intergeneric breeding of Arachnis, Vanda, and Ascocentrum named in honor of C. Y. Mok of Singapore, who registered the first Mokara in 1969; I ordered this plant from a Thai orchid farm two summers ago.
Mokara Chao Praya Gold is a free flowering and very floriferous hybrid.
Some clones have heavier spotting than others.
Its requirements are typical for Vandaceous plants, bright shade from sun up until noon and can be slowly weaned to direct sunlight. Mokara enjoy plenty of water and fertilizer during the warmer growing months of the year

Thank You, Sonya !
This is quite different from the Mokara Char Kuan 'gold" in my profile picture(which is also in spike at the moment)
Both Mokaras have the bright golden yellow flowers but can only be distinguished by the form and freckling of the petals.
