I have some other new spikes and some new blooms which i will start a new thread for with some pics

I also have a Aranthera Maggie Maroon triple spike on the way too which is its first time blooming since taking a division from my aunt; only 2 months ago
which will open in succession, one spike already preparing to open its blooms

Wow. What do spikes look like when they first appear? Do you have any coeruleas?

well depending on whether its a strap leaf or a semi-terete....the spike comes either from in between the base of the leaf and the main stem or bursts through the main stem in between parallel leaves respectively...if that even makes sense...lool

No i don't believe i have any coeruleas......but i just got 6 new vandas that aren't labelled....who knows waiting to see what the blooms look like

Do roots come from where the spikes emerge as well?

I love coeruleas. I intend to get many more. I love a blue cheese cloth Vanda. Coeruleas being cold tolerant are my best bet. I can't provide heat in winter as it is too dear but cold I can do

Roots can come from any part of the plant pretty much, but usually below, around and from the oldest leaves on the orchid.
