Just wanted to give some photo updates.

Question about fertilising during spike production and blooming. I have a fertiliser that says I should feed my Vanda with the high nitrogen when not in bloom or spike and then when in spike and flowering feed with the high phosphorous and potassium. Is this not recommended then?

I guess you can use the instruction given. I usually stop or significantly decrease fertilizing for plants in spike, i find the spike grow faster.
That is my experience at least, and isn't a hard and fast rule.

Oh gosh, I don't know what to do now. I use Orchid Focus Grow for normal growth and then when spikes appear it says to use Orchid Focus Bloom??? I really don't know what to do for the best. I guess I shall reduce feeding then when I do get a spike on my Vanda.

It is my understanding that the bloom booster is to be used in alternation with the balanced fertilizer during the dormant period if one lives in places that experience really cold winter months or even snow. (Bloom booster in this case is only to be used in small amounts and infrequently).
As for me, i live in the tropics so i feed throughout the year, and occasionally alternate with bloom booster although i don't find it really necessary if you use Calmag or epsom salt and superthrive.

I still don't know. I am not using bloom boost, that is another product altogether. I am using the two fertilisers that they produce.

Orchid Focus Grow and Orchid Focus Bloom

They also have another one called Orchid Focus Ultra which says that should be used throughout! Golly gosh, I don't know what to do.... You have been very helpful though Christiano.

No Prob....you'll be more than fine with a balanced fertilizer year round 3 times a week and less in the colder months....
stop stressing out, the new spikes will come when you least expect it and better yet over night.
