Hello Everyone!
I wanted to say hello to everyone ! I have e bunch of orchids but I love my Vanda the most. I just got into the whole orchid thing just about 6 months ago and it is tough for me to handle sometimes. I am glad that this forum is here! My Vanda is getting yellow from the bottom up and the air roots have really dried up. After reading here.I wasnt watering enough.. and not feeding enough. I hope its not too late to bring her back. I took some pics that I will try and post soon!
thanks for having me!

Well Come to the Orchid board. There is a section on Vandas where your question will get attention from Vanda guru's. So hopefully they can help you out.
Glad you joined the orchid board, and we will try to help as best we can.

Welcome to the forum ...
Pictures are worth a thousand words - we look forward to seeing them and helping bring your vanda back to life.
A Thai grower told me to treat my vandas like mermaids:-keep sun on their faces (high light and warm temps), wind in their hair (good air circulation, especially around the roots), and gentle water bathing their bodies (high humidity and lots of water). If you can't do this year-round outside, you'll need to adapt your growing area to these standards. Be sure to let us know where you are (I'm in NH) so our advice will be more helpful.

Hi Lucky
Do any of those roots get green when you wet them? You'd see the green of the root through the white covering which is called the velamen.

This plant looks as if it a top-cutting; it appears to have made a few keikis in its lifetime, perhaps in response to an injury. Are there two fans (of leaves)?
If yes, what I would do if this were my plant
To me, it looks like the plant is dessicating from the inside out and bottom up.
If this were my plant Remove the plant from the pot, clean off any medium from the roots and trim off any dead roots that were in the pot.

sorry didn't finish my thought before I hit submit so what I meant to say is, what I would do if this were my plant is actually cut the main growth where I've indicated with the red line using a sterile tool; cauterize the cut; throw the pot away.
Grow the plant in a basket, bare root; water as you normally would; in time, the 'air' roots will take over and hopefully revive the plant.
This sounds drastic, but it works.
