Default Ascocenda Chao Phraya x Vascostylis Mishima Lime
Impressive spike of lime green blossoms… white lip with spicy fragrance in the morning…the flowers are 2 inches and are very long lasting. I heard that this blooms several times a year… this is the first time bloom for me. I have several vandacious orchids in S/H method in my care, easy to manage, low maintenance and they are happy healthy plants.

Its a glass vase I drilled holes into and put hydroton clay pellets for S/H method of growing(see Ray's article about it: First Rays' "Semi-Hydroponic - TM" Culture)
The water is now at half the container since the roots have learned to immerse itself in the water...it used to be just 1/4th level of water when it began...

Now that is just lovely Bud....what a beautiful spike filled with blooms. Not to mention the very interesting looking pot/medium it is....
I see you are in Manhattan, so i guess this medium helps manage your orchid in a city atmosphere.
I'm not quite sure if I have this hybrid, but i must check my collection. I do have this colour though.
I might have to beg you sincerely for a division of your healthy plant
I am driven to ask if the blooms are fragrant, as a lot of Vasco's are. There is a yellow green & brown ascocenda hybrid we have that is 3 plants all attached to one drift wood & you wouldn't believe how amazing it is to smell them in the morning.

Do share this method of potting with me, and also how you manage to create the perfect atmosphere for your Vandaceous orchid in NY.....I lived there for 6 yrs
I sure would love to have some Vanda that are manageable and happy potted & in doors. as lovely as it is to relax in my gardens outside.
