I have an Opsistylis which is a Rhynchostylis gigantea crossed with some sort of Vandopsis, not sure which one. When I purchased this, I was pretty certain they didn't get the name quite right on the label.
If I had to take a guess, it's Opsistylis Suree, or something.
I grow this outdoors all year round and it has been around for many years (I lost track exactly how long, but suffice it to say I had it prior to 2006). Blooms every spring too.
It is currently in spike, and will be in full bloom probably in the next 1 - 2 weeks.
So, I don't know if you want to take a chance and kick your Rhynchostylis hybrid outdoors or not, but it's something to try, especially if you're having a tough time with it indoors.
