Hmmm...
I don't know how much cooler San Diego is compared to the Los Angeles area (non-coastal, I live on the east side), but it doesn't stay all that warm here all year round as you know already.
I grow this outdoors all year round. Never had to bring it indoors at all.
Temperature ranges from 36 F - 100 F (2.2 C - 37.8 C)
I grow it in a clear plastic pot with large grade wood chips. Bright indirect light as per many of my Vandas.
I have not found this particular species to be problematic whatsoever.
Blooms quite freely for me too.
I'm thinking the humidity here is not that high, it may be kind of average, but I never really officially got a reading for it.
Really, many of my Vandas are grown outdoors all year round. I've only had to make an exception for Vanda luzonica which I found did better when it was kept indoors during the winter. The rest of the year, I can kick V. luzonica outdoors.
If you don't mind me asking...
How did yours go?
