This vanda recently opened and I am wondering if there is a registered name for it?

The tag reads: Ascda. MME Kenny x V. Denisoniana

Any help is appreciated!

There are two awards to Ascda. Kenny Gold to the clone 'Orchidgrove' which is a (clear) vibrant lime green without spots.

Yours is quite different from what one expects to find in this hybrid and may be worth a closer look. Your plant definitely exhibits denisoniana's fiddle-shaped lip.

BTW, is there any chance that the tags of Ascda. Kenny Gold and Ascda. Fuchs Spotted Gem got switched? The above photo looks much more like my Ascda. Gua Chi Long than it does of my Kenny Gold.

Both plants are hand-me-downs from different relatives but there is an outside chance they came from the same distributor. I'll have to wait until that one blooms which may be awhile given its current condition.

I've had the Kenny Gold for several years and the Ascocenda Fuchs Spotted Cat only for a day. I did find a photo of the Kenny Gold online a few months ago and it looks like the same base color but with smaller spots - at the same time, it was a small, low res photo.

The pictures of the Spotted Cat I can find look like an orange to rust color as a base.

BTW is it Spotted Cat or Gem?

It will be interesting to see you Fuchs Spotted Cat when it opens. Does the previous grower have a photo?

The reason I ask if the tags may have been switched is that in researching for a talk on awardable characteristics of v denisoniana and its hybrids, Ascda. Kenny Gold is one that is expected to have good, clear yellow color. Spotting or marks on denisoniana is quite variable in the species. (Spotting almost always occurs in Ascda. Guo Chia Long and its offspring - incidentally there are 3 AOS awards to Ascda. Fuch Spotted Cat).

The photos I've attached are very similar in color and markings to our: Ascda. Kenny Gold (ours is more yellow than the awarded clone 'Orchidgrove') and Ascda. Guo Chia Long.

The other photo is Ascda. Kirk Hoo - (Kenny Gold x Guo Chia Long) which hasn't bloomed for us yet.
