Default Vanda Brown Spots

My Vanda has always gotten sun on one side, I don't turn it around, I am a beginner. Over the months it has grown like crazy but on the side where the sun hits it there are brown spots on the leaves. Is this something to be concerned about? It is in a NE window, getting 2-3 hours of sun a day. The sun here is more intense since we live a mile high, could that be it? Is this maybe normal? Its flowered and everything. I have not had to cut any ends of this Vanda off. I tried to post a pic but doubt if I did it right, having such a hard time with that. I recently BROKE my leg, had an operation, in a cast and its been a test of my love for Orchids making sure they are taken care of in "PAIN". I cannot get up to tell you the exact Vanda but will look later and post. Thanks folks!!!

I should have known this but this Vanda is a Neostylis Lou Sneary 'Bluebird', has bloomed 2 X in a year. Bought it in bloom also. Its in very course bark and charcoal, it gets misted daily, its very very dry here, one could shrivel up! It sits on a tray with water.

I'm sorry to hear about your leg. I hope you heal quickly. If the brown spots you're talking about are small spots like freckles, that's not a problem. Vandas will get those when the light they're receiving is increased. But they'll acclimate to the higher light pretty quickly. Vandas can take direct sun in the morning and evening but it's a good idea to protect them from direct light from noon to about 3 PM. Vandas can also get leaf spotting fungus but it looks different. Fungus spots are usually bigger and fewer of them. They will usually grow in size over time. I hope your spots are the light related ones.

Yes, they are "freckle-like", I kind of thought it was to prevent damage from sun, thanks for confirming that. It doesn't get that 3PM sun, it ends about 1:30 PM or so. I would love to get more Vanda, I have two, also have a tricolor which should bloom this year if its darn leaf ends would stop turning black. I stopped misting that one and I think that did the trick.

I have tried to post pics, just can't seem to get it right. Should I turn this Vanda around so the other side gets the sun or leave it facing the same way all the time? Thanks.
