Vandopsis parishii var. marriottiana
This lovely was donated to the Memphis Botanic Gardens. Hubby is working on getting it ready for showing.
The elderly lady donated her entire collection and there were five of these awesome Vandopsis included.
I am hoping we can get a division.
Right now there are multiple spikes on each plant. This one has great color in my opinion but the flower size is smaller than the awarded one from the '70s.

How cute!
I only first heard of this orchid very recently, when I saw that one of my favorite vendors selling a cross of Vandopsis parishii and Sedirea japonica (which has really cute blooms!)
But I didn't know that it existed in a red version like yours!

Very pretty bloom and I love the way the plant grows. I'm not familiar with that type of orchid. I need to look it up.
