Thanks Bud! That might be manageable whenever I find my own place. I'm a college student in a dorm at the moment. Lol.

Right, Evan...it also depends if you have a large southfacing window in your dorm...at NYU in the east village they have a 25 floors dorm that have large windows...all one needs is choose the southfacing ones...
yep when you graduate and find a job: you will also find a place of your own and I hope you have the largest windows for your orchids
I was lucky my apartment is a turn of the century stone building with wrought iron fire escape and a large bay window facing south

Hehe. I purposefully chose my dorm for it's large windows and specified a south-facing window. I have a little leaf linden in front of it, so the really intense sun in the summer is partly filtered and it's nice and bright in the winter. I hope I'm that lucky when I look for my own home. I'm graduating this May and applying for internships at botanic gardens!
You know you're addicted to orchids when your primary concern in choosing a place to live is how much light will be available to your plants.

Beautiful as always, Bud! I may try s/h for one of mine sometime. It is very nice when you don't have to water every day.
