Ohh.... The leaves are supposed to look like that. I've had one for awhile and always thought it was dehydrated because of the leaves, I guess thats normal? Anyway your orchids blooms are gorgeous so you must be doing somthing right!

Holy cats! What a deep blue. It's intense. Great job growing. I'm intrigued with the hydrotron in vase setup. Where did you learn to grow this way?

Thanks for sharing.

Thank You, Peter...attached is a picture of my Vanda luzonica...its 4 meters of roots...I got myself a two feet glass vase and drilled it with holes and curled the roots inside the vase...all I need is fill it up with LECA and immerse it in 1/4 level of water...making sure the roots dont touch cold water...
*always take into consideration: vandas love warmth, bright lights and lots of humidity=cold and damp is their major enemy

Thank You, Judi !

Thank You, Rosie !

Thank You, Ryrycochinco! The leaves of the strap-leafed vandacious opens slightly when happy...it closes its leaves when hungry, thirsty and sulking...the four lower leaves of my plant is old and is telling me they are ready to retire: it is yellowing a bit and drooping...this is normal especially after it sheds its blooms it will also shed some leaves...but the warmer months will grow more healthy leaves and roots

Thank You, "-J" ...I was still a member of another forum years ago before I was with OB; when I read Ray's article on S/H method...I tried it on my Mokara(the picture in my profile) which was very successful...I only do the S/H on my plants that feeds a lot and drink a lot...saves me watering it every morning...but I need to flush it with water in the sink twice a month to avoid algae deposits...even if algae is not a threat to the plant its just easthetics and cleanliness...
*I still consider myself new to orchid growing: and as I live, I breathe deeply and learn...and just keep on learning...more and more...and will stop learning only if I die...

Thank You so much, Ron ! for your encouraging words...

I live in Thailand and have many many Orchids..... too many to count actually ( can't count past 10,000) LOL.... Humidity is a great factor here, but also making sure the roots don't stay wet is another. We have a few problems in the monsoon season..... And no i can't put them under cover haha.....I'm getting myself into the seedling market these days......Oooh soo many!!

Peter...more than 10,000 vandas is too much! You need a whole staff of 100 people all day everyday looking after them...I have only 27 vandas and I cant even give them full undivided attention...I have to spend Sunday afternoons caring for my plants...I am lucky they are surviving in an apartment bay window
