Vanda coerulea

I bought a flask with five small plants in 2008. Deflasked them in june 2009 and a few days ago the first flower opened. It was so small, about 3 cm tall and did not look like any Vanda coerulea i have seen before.
I did think at first that it might be a V. coerulescens, but after searching the web and different forums i do think it is a coerulea......or am i wrong ?

The first flower is now 5.5 cm tall., still a bit small, but i really love the size and the pattern a lot.

Very unique for coerulea, but I do think it is coerulea. Congrats!

It is a coerulea. I love it, very close to how it looks like in the wild. And not far from being a semi-alba as well. In my eyes, a very attractive V.coerulea with nice shape, twisted petals and hudge lateral sepals. Far from the so-called "improved" ones...

Congrats for the whole process as well, deflasking in 2008 and 3 years later the first bloom it is very well done !!

The one in flower where about 10 cm. tall when i deflasked them, so it was "large" seedlings i deflasked.
I like it more and more and i am so happy it is a "nonimproved" Vanda coerulea i have bought.
I have small seedlings of V. coerulea f. delicata and V.coerulea f. alba so in a few years they will, hopefully, look great together

I have a coerulea seedling that I bought about a year ago, and I'm still trying to figure out how many years from blooming it is. Can you post a pic of your whole plant?

Great looking plant, thanks for posting! I love how the leaves and blooms reflect one another with their wideness towards the ends and floppy turning. I think for these reasons this species has a "kind" look about it.

It is true to its form and you can see the characteristics in its shape coloring and texture. The whole plant itself is just like my plant of the form found in the wilds(shown in the picture currently blooming)...your plant is a Vanda coerulea alright; maybe on the second and third flowering it will manifest itself according to what you see in the pictures shown by the other growers...it is a young plant, let it grow a couple of years more
