I follow the correct culture of the plant and mimic the environment where it is originally found inside my apartment(bright southern window light, humidifier and heater)...and I get to give it the correct watering regimen and fertilizer combinations...two small oscillating fans on each side giving it a soft breeze
There are quite a few hybrid vandas these days that are pretty easy to bloom, if you are willing to look after them the way Bud describes. I have added extra light because of our dull winters, but my living room pole lamp doesn't do a bad job either. I sometimes put a plant beside it when it's blooming.
Great information, gorgeous flowers. I have always been afraid to grow Vandas in my NYC apartment. Always figured it would be to dim and too dry for them. Congratulations for showing that it can be done.
