Vanda luzonica blooming
Endemic to the Philippines, V. luzonica is truly an endangered species. I'd like to find someone who has another plant in bloom right now who I can either send pollen to or be the recipient of some pollen so that we can do our part for the species' survival.
I grow this plant warm-to-hot in the summer with high humidity (80-95%), followed by intermediate temps in the winter and reduced humidity (50-65%). It gets watered a lot during the summer, and I fertilize it regularly. During the winter it's allowed to go dry between waterings (but it doesn't experience a true winter dry season) and fertilizer is kept to a minimum until new roots appear in the spring. No scent to the blooms, so I'm assuming that (hopefully!) it's the real V. luzonica and not a hybrid.

A beautiful Vanda that I hunted for far and wide to no avail. Now that I'm living in a different apartment, the conditions (specifically, the light levels) are no longer favorable for one.
That'd a very nice plant, Steve. It looks like a 100% pure luzonica to me (maybe your clone just isn't fragrant). Then again, I've found that many of the orchids that are supposedly fragrant aren't; I'm almost tempted to e-mail Jay Pfahl and tell him to make corrections about fragrance of some species in his site.

Vanda luzonica blooming
How about a pic of the whole plant. I have one that probably is a long ways from blooming and hope that some day mine will look like your beautiful plant.

Thanks, everyone, for your comments!
Beverly, sorry for the delay, but here's a (not-so-great) picture of the plant. It's definitely one of my more ratty-looking orchids, but to be fair, that's not the plant's fault. It spends the summers outdoors and gets more light than it should. In addition, it has to deal with the neighborhood chipmunk population, a few members of which, on occasion, are fond of sampling the leaves and roots of whatever happens to be on my front porch.
