Fantastic, I love those blooms. Congratulations!
My story is much like yours... Same type of chid, same amount of time, but I'm in Florida and mine has never spiked. If you don't mind me asking, how large is your plant and what's the leaf count? I read recently that they bloom between fall and winter. Have you experienced recent temperature changes that could explain the spike? Thanks.

Hello Junebug, yes you are right for temperature changes, that is exactly what happened,my plant is 20 inches long and has a 6 pairs of leaves and the keiki is 10 inches long and has also 6 pairs of leaves.Second spike just started to open flowers. Those flowers are very long lasting. There is a picture of the whole plant.Sorry for a delay in answering but I was too busy.

After seeing your pictures, I am curious if you are growing via semi-hydro culture or if you are using LECA as a regular potting medium for it? How often do you water it like this?

Hi Becca,I am using Leca for a medium and ceramic pot to keep it in.Every three days I am watering until all the roots are green and water goes up to the rim of the pot and then it drains from the bottom and some water stays there in this little saucer attached to ceramic pot.
