Can Vandas be potted?

I have four vandacious plants on S/H...but I make sure that the roots do not touch water. There is a problem with wicking so I still spray every morning the topmost LECA LAYER

I grow them in plastic baskets (as they NEVER break down) and simply transfer the whole basket to a new basket every 2-3 years (if I HAVE to)

Most of my vandas are potted with coarse tree fern fibers as the medium. People here without greenhouse for their plants usually grow their vanda potted.
