Default some vanda leaves shriveled despite daily watering

guys, would like to seek your advise

some of my vandas have leaves which are shriveled despite being watered daily (even twice during hot days). i'm in the Philippines by the way.

the roots are well and in fact green at the tips and seem to be growing still

had been giving hormex once a week as they're relatively newly mounted on driftwoods (new roots seem to be the result)

they're located under a tree to avoid direct mid-day sun, but get morning sun

what could be the problem?

You are overwatering your vanda. You have a very humid atmosphere and you are also equatorial in location...vandas love hot humid environment and you have given it bright but shaded from the sun by mounting it on a tree...if it rains, do not water it for a week...it had been drenched too much already...also even if its hot the humidity in your atmosphere is almost 90%...the roots of the vanda dont need any help: stop the chemicals...the atmosphere is giving the roots a lot of help.
Did you notice that the "Waling-Waling"(Euentha sanderiana) that is native to your country is not watered at all in the wilds but can survive just perched on a tree?
You have monsoon rains and typhoons from now til December...so stop watering ...after December the morning dew is also a great help ...so water it every other day...
The summer months you can water it everyday especially if its very hot and dry...But I dont think your area will ever be dry you are living in a tropical island with balmy air and soft breeze...vandas just love your weather

I didn't know what Hormex was so I did a search on Orchid Board. I found this thread and thought you might want to read it. Rooting Hormones

I didn't know a Vanda could be watered too much as long as it's growing under proper conditions with it's roots exposed. My vandas love the rain, and high humidity. I keep their roots draped in spanish moss to encourage humidity and to prevent rapid loss of moisture after they're watered. They're thoroughly watered 2 or 3 times a day when it doesn't rain. Without this much moisture they fail to thrive. If the leaves look dehydrated and the root growth is slow I water them even more.

After reading the other thread it's my suspicion that Hormex could be your problem. Good luck with your vandas!

I'm not an expert but I would say that what Bud has said as well as Junebug has said is correct. In my limited experience, in your conditions you need to be careful watering/comparing it with the wind/air movement and or/ watching out that water droplets /excessive humidity do not 'stagnate ' between the leaf folds. ..
I would keep on as you are apart from watching out for the above & letting your plant roots turn a more silvery colour between watering; as you say your roots are Good!
Hope this makes sense!
