This is supposed to be a Vasco. Veeraphol but it doesn't look like pictures of it I've seen. It's supposed to be a frequent bloomer but I've had it six months and this is the first bloom. It's also supposed to be fragrant but I can't detect any fragrance. The flowers are quite a bit smaller than my other vascostylis. It's still a nice plant though.
I'd say the name is probably correct. Its parents are Rhy gigantea x Ascda Banghuntian Gold. The Ascda gives it the upright spike habit, not in every clone though.
This is a happy healthy plant. Now that it started flowers it will begin to produce regular blooms and basal keikis. Do not be so disappointed as it grows older the blooms will be bigger and showier...try smalling it at night...The fragrance begins at dusk...I love the color and the flower arrangement.
