Temperature needs for Sedirea japonica

I currently have it in my terrarium and did not look at the entire temperature range which seems to be between the averages of 37 minimum nighttime and 85 maximum daytime within the range of a year.

I do not know yet how cold my terrarium will get during the winter, but it is in a room that is known for being chilly. During the hottest summer months, the temp peaked around 82 degrees.

My question is does this particular orchid need the extreme variations in temperature to bloom and do well?

In the terrarium, it has sprouted several new roots and began to attach itself to the mount. I would hate to have to rip it out at this point, but if it really needs to feel the upper 30's/lower 40's to do well, then I will just have to do that.

Thank you for the information. I can't read the last image from my cell phone so I'll look at it once I'm home. Guess I'll be removing it from the terrarium, sigh, lol...

Hmmmmm. That seems to be a bit different from the short writeup in IOSPE. especially considering they are also found in the warmer climate of Japan.

But IOSPE says cool to warm, so I don't see how it is different. I did a lot of reading on it before buying my own Sedirea, and everywhere I looked it mentioned that the plants get temps in the 35-80F range much like Neofinetia, with average winter temps in the 50-60s. The way I understand it from reading (also basing myself on Orchidziw) is that they grow and bloom fine at consistently warm temperatures, but if you want the plant to live more than a few years you'd better give it conditions closer to it's native range.

It is a bit different. Though I'm guessing that the Baker's included that when they were talking about how the plant, if it did not go dormant, would grow itself to death. I don't know how to explain the difference otherwise though.
