Well done. I have had one for more than a year and was about to give up on ever getting it to bloom but seeing yours has motivated me to keep trying.

Very nice. I bought one as a seedling back in February and it is blooming now. I find this species very rewarding.

My project plant came with a spent spike. Ah well, next season. This is just gorgeous.

Thank you all for your for your kind comments. For those of you with spikes - I look forward to seeing photos of your blooms.
Jerry mine actually gets some sunshine a couple hours a day don't know If that 'helped' it spike?. Jonada mine had a spent spike too when I got it last year so as you say, 'next season' you should be getting one too.
I love this plant so much I've bought myself other Gastros. Hoping they do as well as this one!
