I keep trying to get a fragrans and they keep turning out to be seidenfadenii or related pachyrachis, and no, they don't have a fragrance that I can detect, though the name would suggest otherwise.

I bought a fragrans from White Oak Orchids just recently that looks correct. It's about to bloom and I'll post pics so you can confirm - I'd recommend them if it turns out to be the right plant.

Ron,

Your plant and photographs are beautiful as always !

Can I ask you what criteria you are using to id your schoenorchis ? I have been looking for an id key without success...
I have one bought as S. fragrans, but I would like to know if it is really one.
With all the pictures on the web, all very different for the same name, it is hard to be sure ! A lot of pictures showing S. fragrans look more like the one you call S. seidenfadenii...

Here is mine (very different colors from yours) to compare (last year's bloom)

My guess is that yours is neither fragrans nor seidenfadenii but pachyrachis, but perhaps someone else knows better.
