Hi guys

This is the first rhynchostylis I have ever bought; I got it at Lowe's today. It appears to be a healthy orchid; however the sphagnum is really wet.

I need to know if I should repot (I heard that they do not like to be disturbed). And also if I should put it in bark or fresh sphagnum. How much moisture and sun do these require? I have included pics to give an idea of what it looks like (I took it out of the pot to take a pic of the roots but didn't disturb them, it is still in the pot now). Thanks in advance for any suggestions and tips.

Eddie

I followed this website's advice with mine: Rhynchostylis gigantea Culture

It has been working out well so far. It's been growing pretty fast for an orchid, lol, but it's still not mature, so time will tell. Good luck!

This one does not like its to roots staying wet. Growing in a basket seems to be one of the best methods for this one so the roots can dry out quickly.
