Wink Vanda seedling V. Wirat x V. Madame Rattana

This is my newest Vanda. It's still a seedling. I did buy it on Ebay from a vendor in Germany. I had no experience with buying on Ebay. I must admit that I'm not dissapointed. It was send to me very fast, and was well packed. At this moment I have it for about 2 weeks. So far it's doing fine. It's growing new roots and a new leave. I guess it will take a wile before it starts blooming, but it's fun to grow your own little Vanda seedling to blooming orchid. On the photo you can see what it will look like when it ever blooms.

I'm not sure if its a seedling or mericlone. This cross has been around for some time. The Registered name of the cross is V. Yano Blue.
As per the name, mine and a lot I've seen on the net are 'Blue'. There could well be pink ones if V. Wirat 'Pink' instead of 'Blue' was used as the parent. They are good growers and can flower from smallish plants, a lot bigger than yours but it won't be long.

Well on the name tag its saying this name. I don't know if it is realy a seedling or not. But it is imported from Thailand from an orchid farm by the vendor. It would be nice if it can bloom soon. Have you any idea how long it could take before it blooms. It's growing very well. A lot of new roots and a new leave. So far so good.

That is a real beauty! I would love to have one that colour! I wish that we had more south facing windows. I need more growing room!

I know what you mean. I have the same problem. My space is also very limited. When they are that small it's fine, but they do get big. I only have space for a few more.

Thanks a lot. I hope it will still look great if it ever blooms. Although that will take a while.

V. Yano Blue isn't a big grower for a Vanda by any means. Mines about 12 inches high and has flowered atleased twice. It should/could flower from a plant 6 inches high.

That sounds like a nice, compact one. I recently got an Arjuna wink. I'm hoping that it flowers that quickly!

He is almost about 6 inches. So perhaps it will flower very soon. I hope so. Although I don't count on it to much. Then it can only get better.
