How wide are these mini vandas? Female
Default How wide are these mini vandas?

I am getting crowded in my secret garden, but am hoping I can add a couple of the miniature vandaceous types.
What is the width of these when mature?
Ascocentrum ampullaceum
Ascocentrum miniatum
Neostylis Fuch's Ocean Spray (Lou Sneary x Rhyn. Coelestis)

Any other mini members of the aliance you'd recommend?

Looking into tolumnia as well....

Looking into tolumnia as well....
Astm. miniatum: usually about 6-8" leaf span or width
Astm. ampullaceum: up to 12" leaf span
Neostylis: can range from 4-10" depending on which one is pod parents...

If you want ultra mini under 4-5" width, try Dykia hendersonianum, Ceratocentron fesselii, Amesiella phillipenensis & monticola, Holcoglossum falvescens, Trichoglottis pusilla...

I do have the dyakia already and it's awesome. I have 3 new spikes starting on it right now - it bloomed 2 at once last year.

I'm having so much fun expanding my collection!
I had more room than I thought once I got better organized.

I like to hear it's just not my disease.

Just do not buy V. sanderiana or its hybrids. They will get HUGE so fast. On the other hand, the flowers are pretty and showy.

Although they are huge in size (24+ inches leaf span) but pure sanderianas and its seedlings are extremely slow grower about 1 to 1 1/2 leaf growth per year.

Neostylis should be about Neofinetia size

Tolumnia is Oncidium alliance - size varies from tiny (micro-miniature), to probably no more than a mature Neo, tho I am not familiar with all Tolumnias

There are small Vanda species. There's no need to get Vanda sanderiana if you can't afford the space.

The following stay fairly small for a Vanda:

Vanda coerulescens
Vanda lilacina
Vanda parviflora

Trudelia pumila

These also bloom at fairly small sizes.
