It is literally 'Bronzy purple.' The contrast between the petal/sepals and the lip is amazing.

One thing that they don't often tell you in books or on the internet is how often an orchid blooms. I'm glad that I joined orchid board. I heard that vascostylis are really good bloomers and I want a red one. My nearest grower only has a Vandacostlis that is deep red. I might go for it anyway, but I can't find any info.

I don't know why vascostylis are so hard to find. The vendor that I bought mine from doesn't even list it on his web-site. I keep my eye out for them at orchid shows. Good luck.

Our choices are much more limited here in Canada, especially in more isolated places. We don't have nearly as many growers in this area. I can get a Vasco, but a different colour, and I have to wait until it is warmer to have it shipped. I'm not giving up! I'm going to one of our Island's 2 shows this weekend!

On my entire Vanda collections this is my most favorite

Vanda Sanderiana, if Im not mistaken is our new national flower here in the Philippines and also a once in a year bloomer usually from July until October and sometimes in February till March. And when it comes to profuse blooming this one get that title:

No-ID for me. Expected to send out spike after every new leaf is fully developed.

Sanderiana is gorgeous, but we can't bloom those well here. The second one I really love!
