I've tried these before, and I honestly think it's an issue of humidity. They love very high levels of humidity. If they don't have it, they slowly pine away.

For me, I'd have to grow this in a terrarium. Not even the bathroom would work for this species.

I honestly think that this one must have humidity that never falls below 70%.

I don't have this in any particular humidity. I'd say during the day the humidity is zero, and at night it probably gets up to 70% if I'm lucky
I grow it under high light and high heat, in a loose bark mix with daily watering and it grows like mad.
got two new spikes starting right now.

It does come from Indonesia. It can get pretty warm and humid over in the lowland forests.

I've been to Indo before, and it is uncomfortably hot and humid in places that are low in elevation.

At any rate, good growing.

for those who expressed interest in how I'm growing, I took a picture of the whole plant showing the moisture in the pot I generally keep. This is at it's dryest - I was about to water and I water daily.
It gets about 2000fc HPS.


3 new spikes!!!!
