Very nice!! I just noticed mine is developing a spike for Te first time in 2 years since I bought it!!!!
Typically, we grow Vanda's in no soil whatsoever. They tend to like their roots exposed to the air, but some use cocunut husk as a medium in the hanging pot to add moisture retention but to also allow it to dry out quickly.
I'm not sure what the medium is that Ysa is using though. Mine is planted in a slotted wooden basket with some lava rock. My true Vanda's are in either slotted wood baskets or net pots with some CHC, all hanging with wire hangers.
I too have this Neostylis but it has never bloomed for me. I just moved it to a teak basket with bark loosely around the interiors of the basket. Maybe that will do the trick. Mine seems to be about the same size at the one pictured in this thread.
Thank you so much for the replies.
Size: How big will my bluebird get?
Watering: Daily 20 min soak plain water and weekly 20 min soak with 10-30-20 orchid fert. Is this right?
Soil is lava stone about dime size and sphagnum on the top I assume sphagnum is for aesthetics, sells better.
I will try to get pict up when I can figure that part out.
