Default Rhy. gigantea

The color is between red and purple.
Like the peach version, this one is popular here, too.

That's a gorgeous specimen.

My Gigantea red had three spikes for the first time this year and I almost cried when I accidentally broke one.

That is amazing. How old is the plant itself?

It belongs to a friend of mine so i do not know how old it is.
Generally, it took 3 years for a plant to mature if the plant is grown in a green house. Rhy. gigantea is a ture warm grower. If the temperature is above 15'C all year round, the seedling is able to grow without winter stop.

Rhy. gigantea likes higher temperature and intense light.
The light level is about that for the cattleyas and the temperature is the same as that for the phalaenopsis.
If the plant starts to grow, regular plant food should be given.
