Rhy. gigantea spike just sitting there; its normal???

I have Rhycostylis gigantea spike come out around December, and after it grow about one inch, its just sitting there with no sign of growing longer. It's normal or the spike is aborting?? The spike is still green, and I heard gigantea bloom up to spring so hopefully its the late blooming clone.

Is this the first spike it's ever produced? Sometimes vandaceous plants have a difficult time with their first successful spike. I have one that aborted 4 tiny spikes, one after the other. Her fifth try was a success though, and she hasn't had any problems since. You could try increasing the light exposure, but that didn't help when my plant was behaving that way.

I have a Neostylis Lou Sneary, that had just a tiny spike started when I got it - and it just sat there for at least a month, til I moved it to stronger light, and the spike immediately started to grow - I don't know if that would help yours, but it might ...

How much light is it getting?

Yes it's the first flowering spike. I grow it under light so, the light is already at max. Maybe I''ll move to the window sill, during sunny day.
