Baz in Oz, thank you for the information. It's certainly helpful to go to the original source. On-line I've seen Vasco. Pine Rivers in a couple other colors.
I have seen the name Pine rivers many times, including on Ebay, where some vendors sell these orchids. I'm really hoping to get one this spring! I can't imagine having to pinch out spikes.
There seems to be no end to the list of different Vasco Pine Rivers variations. I personally have 'Brighton', 'Bright 'n Blue', 'Chao Praya Blue', 'Narangba' and 'Wasana Blue' but none have flowered for me yet.
Don't know about Mokaras as none of mine have flowered yet but I am told they will flower sooner if grown outdoors which may be a little hard to do where you live.
I have a Vanda, which I take outside in the summer. IN the winter I move it around to follow the light, and suppliment with artificial light. It works fine, and it blooms on and off year round. It always blooms for Xmas.
I imagine this should work for vascostylis and Makara, too.
