It is finally in full bloom on both spikes. The fragrance is wonderful!

I gotta get one of these! Are they all fragrant or is it hit and miss?

I am pretty sure they are all fragrant. But I am sure someone will chime in if they are not.

Niceeeee! How long have you grown it in that vase? Some UK growers seem to have good luck with vase culture for their Vandas. Can you tell us a little bit about vase culture based on your own experience? Thanks.

I am fairly new to vase culture and so is this gigantea. It has been in vase culture for four weeks now. It was already in low spike when I got it just before Christmas. This one is gigantea #2 for me. It has pushed out both spikes and started new root growth since I got it. My other is a NBS peach form and is growing in S/H. I thought I would give them about a year and see which grows better.

As for this one, it gets a daily flooding and soak for 30 minutes before draining and is fertilized twice a week.

Those are two fantastic spikes! I have Rhynchostylis Retusa and Coelestis since early last summer. Retusa has bloomed, but not Coelestis. Thanks for posting this! AL
