I have several Robert Delights in my collections and their blooms appears to be dotted rather than tessellated like the one shown above. And the leaf shape indicates a lot of coerulea on its bloodline.
The biggest secret is living in Tampa Bay! That Vanda hangs from a palm tree from March thru Nov or Dec only under cover ( a plastic covered hoop house) for a few months! It gets FULL late afternoon sun 3-6pm and dunked in a tub with fertilizer 2-3xweek and is also near my hose so I spray it when I am using the hose. It is my orchid and I am flabbergasted at it! It had another spike developing in Oct but a bug bit into it. Now, let us hope for a mild winter - nothing like last year's record chill! Greg HAVE A HAPPY TURKEY DAY!
Actually. I am in Central Florida, so Vandas present a bit of a challenge during winter as many do not have growing spaces heated at all. Last year's record chill had us scrambling with the orchids left and right. But, once March rolls around they are happy campers!
