Vanda coerulea
Flowering this year with two inflorescences. I believe this is an unimproved "wild type". Recently, I purchased a line-bred V. coerulea supra from Orchids Limited. Hope to be able to compare them side by side.

Wow, just gorgeous! I'm a sucker for blues.

Very nice! I also would like to see a difference in those two.

Thanks for the comments!
Swamper - Although they say it can take freezing temps in it's native environment, it stays in the greenhouse all year here in New Jersey.

Thanks for the reply. I've seen pics on Flickr of them growing outside up north but none from members here.
Anyway, good growing.

Those are stunning--and, in my opinion, there's nothing "unimproved" or needing to be improved about them. I too have been considering one of the Orchids Limited plants of this species. Just need to decide whether or not I want to buy one of their plants or make a car payment this month! :-) Congratulations on your flowers.

I do like your 'wild type' flowers although I was also thinking about getting the one from OL.
Thank you for sharing the beatiful flowers.
