She has a huge bud (about 8 times the size of my largest Phal buds) and now it is turning white. Is this what bud blast looks like on a Vanda? I'm praying I don't loose such a beautiful bud. I want to see what's inside and finally to know what color she is. Keeping my fingers crossed that I get to see a bloom. Maybe the crazy up and down cold weather here in Florida is the cause. I keep taking her out for a few days and then back in for a few days. When she's in there is no light source. Any suggestions?

I just took pictures so you can see what I mean. The two new roots still look great and seem to be growing just fine and the leaves also look okay to me. It's just the buds that look very white. Also, the stem that the bud hangs from isn't round, it reminds me of the red coffee stirers. I hope it shows up in the picture.

Hard to tell if there was damage from the pictures. I think they may be fine. Although the "coffee stirrers" doesn't sound great, they may still bloom.
Bringing them in and out will also contribute to bud blast, unfortunately with these cold fronts coming through I know you had to bring them in. I would bring them inside though and leave them in. Try to give them as much light as possible and continue watering them.
I have brought in most of mine and I may lose the blooms but it's better than losing the plant or leaves due to the cold. I hear there is a really bad front coming in Monday or Tuesday.
BTW when you bring them in or take them out try to have similar temperatures. I try to bring them in when I am no longer using the A/C and my windows are open, so the change isn't too drastic.

Thanks Swamper. I think I will move them to a back bedroom so the change in temp won't be so dramatic when I take them out on hopefully Wednesday. I just looked at her again and even the smaller younger buds have that pattern on the stem coming out of the leaf. It seems to have that coffee shop red swizzle stick pattern on all of them. I hope it's showing up on the pics I posted as I know my explanation may not be very good.
Hope all of your plants are fine and not suffering any ill effects from this strange weather pattern.

Thanks I'm sure they will be fine too. To be honest I'm getting a little tired of bringing them all inside during the winter and am considering selling them all.
I was looking at one of my favorite ones that is blooming and the flower stalk is also stirrer like.

They look ok to me, Lilly. Try to place them in the same direction as the sun was outside, find a sunny spot an leave them. Since you don't know the bloom, maybe it will be spotted and that's the color you are seeing. Time will tell.

Okay, thanks. I will try to keep her happy and hopefully will have lovely pictures to share. I'll be happy if I see her bloom one time because I'll know what to expect from her next time. We first time parents tend to worry more. LOL!!

She bloomed. A few of the blooms are facing the wrong way (I figured all the in and out this year would cause this issue) but I am thrilled that I get to see flowers on her. She has three blooms that are totally open and perfect. The huge one that was to be the first one to open is not opening well at all. It is facing the wrong way and I don't think that it will fully open. I am thrilled that she did anything this year!! Here are pictures of my Vanda.
Thanks for all your help. It was very much appreciated.
