Vanda Blue Magic
It's been a year, but worth the wait! There is still another spike on the way to maturity, so may well post again when both are fully in bloom!
In the meantime, I'm proud to say that this Vanda is grown outside in the UK!!! (apart from in the dead of winter...)

Congratulations for getting it to re-bloom!
How do you grow it?

Really nice. Interesting that you grow outside most of the year. I brought my sanderiana based hybrid in already not wanting it to get too cold.

Thank you all! To answer the culture questions, I did a bit of a treasure hunt through the parentage of a Blue Magic, and when I realised that it was in the region of 80% Vanda coerulea, figured that the upside of more light meant that lower temps would be OK. So, it hangs outside in full South and West light, and has really flourished since doing that. The moment the hint of a frost comes near, it comes in and lives in a vase. I do REALLY love Vandas, but for space reasons, this is going to be my only one for a while yet, and I think that if and when I do get another, I'm going to stick within the coerulea lines... (though I do LOVE the terete Vandas that I'll never be able to grow in the places I have.)

Kaykay, have you ever considered growing one potted.
Several places in the UK sell them that way and I have one since March which is doing well. They key seems to be just dribbling a little water in on a regular basis rather than soaking the medium. I spray the surface roots daily and let the dribbles from that down into the pot. Ocasionally (about once a month or more) when it's looking really dry I do dunk the medium.
Seems to work so far, don't really know but it's growing leaves, roots and it's spiking.

Beautiful vanda, keep doing what you're doing. I am an advocate of "if it's not broke don't fix it"
