Vanda Flowering
This Vanda is flowering. I got this plant from a nursery in Malaysia, when it was first flowering. But all the flower wilted under the hot sun in the car, so I never did get to enjoy the bloom. Now I can finally see them.

Are you sure this is a Vanda, looks more like a peloric Dendrobium or peloric Phalaenopsis

The nursery person told me it is a vanda and needs lots of light. Oh well, here's a full picture of the plant.

It is a lovely flower and good growing. Cool vandaceous hybrid. At least I think it is a hybrid.

Interesting. I didn't know that it did not look like a typical Vanda.

While the plant is typical for vandaceous, the flower looks like it has Doritis pulcherrima var. chumpornensis in it.

Its NOT a pure Vanda or Ascocenda. This is a hybrid using a peloric Doritis crossed with an ascocenda or similar. Ascovandoritis with a great possibility which is Ascocentrum, Vanda, Doritis.

I didn't know you could cross vandas and phals. Such sweet flowers on a compact plant.

There are several hybrids between Phals and Vandas.
